Praise Church achieves incredible reach
When South Africa started the nationwide military-patrolled lockdown, joining other African countries which had imposed strict curfews and shutdowns in an attempt to halt the spread of the coronavirus, Some 57 million people were restricted to their homes during South Africa's total lockdown.
In line with the lockdown, ALL churches were to close immediately, to curb the spread of Covid-19. Places of worship were among the premises that had to close immediately, along with libraries, playgrounds, most shops, and outdoor gyms. The President said that people should stay at home, except to shop for basic necessities.
A statement was issued a few minutes afterwards. It said that the announcement “means all churches will close with immediate effect in line with the Government’s instructions. There will also be no weddings or baptisms.
Praise Church immediately went into action to continue to provide the word of God. Praise Church South Africa developed Church Online and live streamed weekday sermons and Sunday Services to the congregation.
The Praise Church Team flew into action to produce services for all through social media. Praise Church were the pioneers of this method and continued to fill the word of God into the homes of many South Africans. So much so, that the numbers on social media soared, within the last week, Praise Church has reached over 10,000 with it's message. Achieving over 300 new followers totalling its family to over 3,000. The new Praise Church Instagram Page - PRAISECHURCHSA received over 1,400 followers within 24 hours. These numbers are a blessing.
The Praise Worship Team have been doing an amazing job filling homes with songs of praise every week. Praise Church has reached people all over the World including Spain, United Kingdom, United States & Hawaaii. Praise Church will continue to provide The Gospel and looks forward to welcoming new members into the Praise Church South Africa family.
